Emergency disc brake series DBF

Disc brakes of type DBF series are spring-applied and hydraulic-released safety brakes (emergency brakes) and operate on the "failsave" principle, i.e., the brake closes when the valve voltage is disconnected at the power unit or a power failure occurs.

The application is preferably at the washer disc of rope drums in hoisting- and boom hoisting gears and they are also applicable in belt conveyors or other conveying systems.

The brake consists of two identical halves which are mounted to a bracket. On request, we supply brake and bracket with attached hydraulic unit – oil filled, bled and electrically wired – as an assembled unit.

Note: These brakes are only conditionally suitable as stopping brakes. Brake lining wear must to be adjusted manually.

Construction details

  • Brake applied by disc spring pack, hydraulic released
  • Hydraulic system downstream the disc spring pack, away from the brake disc
  • High-grade sealing system consisting of primary and secondary seals
  • Seals not exposed to radial force
  • Excellent corrosion protection with IONIT OX® treatment of parts
  • Simple adjustment of the airgap
  • Brake lining can be changed without removal of brake
  • Housing made of structural steel

Specifications

  • Contact pressure between 10kN and 320kN, depending on type
  • Sliding speed up to max. 20m/s with full contact pressure
  • Brake disc diameter min. 650mm
