DISC BRAKES

Partial covered disc brakes

Design features …

SHB disc brakes are partial pad disc brakes which are actuated by means of a cylindrical helical compression spring or a plate spring package and opened or released via hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders, magnets or electrohydraulic lifting devices. Depending on the application and the performance range, other ventilators can be used.

The use of disc brakes is always recommended when drum brakes can not be used due to constructional conditions or high braking energy.

THE BENEFITS OF DISC BRAKES ARE AMONG OTHERS

  • Higher temperature load capacity of the brake disc and the brake pads compared to drum brakes
  • Peripheral speed up to 90 m / s at the friction radius
  • Higher permissible surface pressures of the brake pads and consequently higher braking torques

SERIES

  • Series RST / SST
  • Safety disc brakes
  • Disc brake SZR.FH 2

APPLICATIONS

  • Cranes, especially hoists with high speeds and as a safety brake on the cable drum
  • Conveyors for bulk handling
  • mining equipment
  • iron and steel industry
  • Power plant equipment
    Lifts
